Bamburgh Castle by Hannes Becker

Wednesday 27th August – Monday 1st September 2025

The 4* Hilton Newcastle Gateshead overlooks the River Tyne and makes a great base for the varied sightseeing programme that includes the spectacular Kynren that, along with Durham Cathedral and Bamburgh Castle, share star-billing.

Additional starring roles are then taken by world-class attractions like Lindisfarne (Holy Island) and Alnwick, where everyone can choose between visiting the mediaeval castle or the stunning garden.

Further highlights are provided by visits to the Angel of the North and Newcastle’s Discovery Museum that celebrates the city’s role as a centre of technical innovation.

On the first morning, the coach takes the group to London King’s Cross to catch a LNER service to Newcastle. A local coach will be waiting to drive you the short distance to the hotel. Meanwhile, the main coach will follow on with the luggage to arrive at the hotel by late afternoon. Coming home, a local coach will be employed for the morning before dropping everyone back at the station in the afternoon. This will give your coach, with everyone’s luggage, time to get to Stevenage to meet the group off the train and continue the journey home.
