Pashley Manor Gardens – Tulip Festival with free time in Royal Tunbridge Wells
May 2, 2025

Timing our visit to coincide with their annual Tulip Festival, Pashley Manor Gardens boasts 11 acres of beautiful borders and vistas – the culmination of a lifetime of passion for gardening and an admiration of the tradition of the English Country Garden.
These award-winning gardens are family owned and maintained – visitors often express delight at the attention to detail displayed throughout, and the intimate, peaceful atmosphere. All the ingredients of the English Country Garden are present … then, of course, the plants! Borders overflowing with perennials and annuals – the look changing through the seasons, but always abundantly filled, and each garden ‘room’ planted in a different colour theme. The annual Tulip Festival features over 40,000 tulips!
Add to all this a Café and Terrace with excellent garden views; Sculpture and Art Exhibitions; a Gift Shop with Plant Sales and a friendly, knowledgeable team waiting to welcome us. What better way to start the Bank Holiday weekend!
Leaving Dorking at a very sensible 9am, en route to Pashley Manor Gardens we will stop in the beautiful Royal Tunbridge Wells. With a couple of hours free time to enjoy the shops and perhaps grab a mid-morning tea or coffee…and cake, Royal Tunbridge Wells should prove a lovely stop along the way. Visit The Pantiles, the Common and The Amelia Scott Centre, which houses the local museum, or just stroll the town centre taking in the Georgian architecture and the local independent shops.
Upon arrival at Pashley Manor Gardens we will be treated to a short introductory talk before the remainder of the afternoon is free to explore the 11 acres of gardens, with all those tulips!
Leaving at around 4.15pm, we hope to arrive back in Dorking at approximately 5.45pm.
