Dinner and Theatre
The Mill at Sonning
With much of the original structure retained, this 18th Century Flour Mill has been converted into a renowned Dinner Theatre. Patrons enjoy a fresh home-cooked meal – with not a microwave in sight! – before watching the performance in the 215 seat air-conditioned auditorium.
Pre-dinner drinks with a view of The Thames or watching the working Waterwheel in the bar, is an added treat.

With many successful and very enjoyable winter visits to Sonning for their, now annual, musical, under our belts, I am pleased to announce our return in January 2026, this time to see Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady.
The story of Eliza Dolittle – the Cockney flower girl who speaks in ‘yowls’ and not ‘vowels’, plucked off the streets of London by the arrogant Professor Higgins declaring he can pass her off as a Duchess in six months – has rightfully captivated audiences for decades.
Add to this an unforgettable score including the songs Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?, On The Street Where You Live, I Could Have Danced All Night and Get Me To The Church On Time and My Fair Lady’s phenomenal worldwide popularity is readily understood.
Following the award-winning success of Gypsy and the highly successful productions of High Society and Guys & Dolls, Sonning is delighted to welcome back Director Joseph Pitcher.
Having won ‘UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre’ three years in a row, we are assured our usual first-class experience enjoying a home-cooked two course meal before the show followed by tea or coffee.
