Highgrove Gardens
August 23, 2025

Following a sell-out trip last year when we had around 80 people on a waiting list, I am thrilled to be able to announce that we have managed to secure two visits to Highgrove Gardens this year. Always a very special trip, our visits include a private guided tour of the gardens and, as a special treat again this year, the private guided tour is followed by a 2-course meal served in the beautiful Orchard Room. This year there is also a glass of wine or soft drink included with the meal, which is followed by tea or coffee.
Having now visited on four previous occasions, if those visits are anything to go by, we are in for a lovely day out. With the gardens offering something different, at different times of the year and with them being home to His Royal Highness King Charles III and Queen Camilla, a visit to Highgrove is very special and not something that we are able to secure every year.
Once at Highgrove we will split into two groups for the guided tour. Each group will be led by one of His Royal Highness’s expert garden guides through two miles of gardens. It should be noted that the garden routes are unmade with bumpy and uneven surfaces and that there are no seating facilities during the whole garden tour. The tours last 90 minutes.
Having finished the tours, we will head to the beautiful Orchard Room where we will be served a lovely 2-course meal, glass of wine or soft drink, and tea or coffee, as described above.
Of course, there will also be a chance to peruse the shop where you’ll find an extensive collection of artisan products, from beautiful home and garden ware to country attire, jewellery and even HRH King Charles III’s very own artwork.
Our anticipated time of arrival back at the Dorking Halls will be around 7pm.
