Tour of Westminster Abbey
August 31, 2022
The Abbey is a place that’s touched the lives of kings, queens, statesmen and soldiers, poets, priests, heroes and villains since 960AD. Westminster Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and is the resting place of more than 3,000 great Britons.
On this self-guided tour of the Abbey choose to use the free multi-media guide available to you upon entry or take a wander without one, marvelling at the beauty and history of one of the world’s most iconic buildings at your own pace. With much to see, take in the Cloisters, College Garden, Chapter House and the Pyx Chamber to name but a few.
With approximately 2 hours available to us, there should be plenty of time to take it all in and still have time to visit the Cellarium Café, Terrace and Shop. You can however upgrade your ticket on the day, free of charge, to an annual pass, allowing you two further visits in the following 12 months.
At around 2.30pm will re-board our coach for a transfer to the Strand where we will have a couple of hours free time. The Strand is just a short stroll from Covent Garden where of course there are plenty of options when it comes to food and drink.
Having spent the afternoon enjoying the sights, we will leave for home at around 5pm. We anticipate being back in Dorking at about 7pm.
