Highgrove Gardens
June 3, 2020
Following sell out trips to Highgrove over the past couple of years, I have been asked by many people whether I could run a third trip this year. I am pleased to say that I have been able to secure another opportunity to tour the private gardens of TRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Places are limited to just 52 and with waiting lists these past two years I imagine it will be advisable to book on the trip as soon as possible if you don’t want to miss out.
As it has worked so well previously there seems little point in changing the itinerary and so we will leave Dorking at 8.30am which will allow for a relaxed journey. Once at Highgrove there should be time for people to partake of a tea or coffee and a snack if they so wish in the Orchard Restaurant. I have decided not to include any food options within the trip again, instead allowing everyone to make their own choices according to their own taste, appetite and budget.
We will split in to two groups for the guided tour. Each group will be led by one of His Royal Highness’s expert garden guides through two miles of gardens. It should be noted that the garden routes are unmade with bumpy and uneven surfaces and that there are no seating facilities during the whole garden tour.
Having finished the tour there will be another opportunity to enjoy the delights of the Orchard Restaurant. With hot meals, sandwiches and even afternoon tea available, there should be something suitable for everyone.
Of course, there will also be a chance to peruse the shop where you’ll find an extensive collection of artisan products, from beautiful home and garden ware to country attire, jewellery and even HRH The Prince of Wales’ very own artwork.
Leaving Highgrove at 4pm we anticipate being back in Dorking at around 6.30pm, traffic allowing.
